On the 9th March 1986, Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II visited Carrick Hill to officially open the estate to the public.  To celebrate the Pearl Anniversary of this event, the Friends of Carrick Hill will hold a morning tea in the house marquee on Wednesday 9th March 2016, 30 years later to the day.  State Librarian Alan Smith will be the guest speaker: his subject will be, appropriately enough, "The Books in my Life".  Christiana Moore from Studio Hats will be participating in the event, and will present a display of hats from both the past and present that reflects the Queen's love of all things millinery.  There will be a raffle, with some great prizes available (including a stay in a beach-side holiday house), and all in all it should be a great morning!  Bring the corgi to celebrate too, if you have one!

Time: 10.00am
Venue: Carrick Hill, 46 Carrick Hill Drive, Springfield
