A fascinating insight into the colourful diversity of being a tour leader, presented by Richard and Margaret Heathcote
For twenty years, Richard & Margaret Heathcote have lead tours for Australians of English castles, country houses and gardens, plus places of great art, beauty and historic interest. On these journeys there has been a mixture of joy and drama and they will share some of the experiences of their visits to the green and pleasant land … where it sometimes rains!
Richard Heathcote has been involved in managing and interpreting Australian historic houses and gardens for over four decades. These include Como and Rippon Lea in Melbourne and Carrick Hill in Adelaide where, as both director and curator, he presented art exhibitions, made video documentaries and authored books on visual arts and heritage.
Richard’s multi-talented wife, Margaret, an accomplished amateur musician who once sang with the Philharmonia Chorus of London, has also worked as a conservation architect and a Heritage Advisor with the SA State Heritage Unit.
